What can I expect on my first visit?

During your first visit, your therapist will meet with you to help you identify issues you want to work on in therapy. Key phrase: therapy is about YOU. Your therapist will ask questions to make sure she understands you and what you are going through. In addition, you are invited to ask questions of your therapist as you acclimate to a new environment. Your therapist wants you to feel safe and secure as you enter therapy with her for the first time. As you discuss your goals and motivations behind coming to therapy, your therapist will be able to determine how to best serve you in future sessions. 

How much do counseling sessions cost?

When are you available for sessions?

Our therapists have appointments available Monday-Friday, typically between the hours of 9 am and 6 pm. However, accommodations can be made for clients who have scheduling conflicts. We want to make every effort we can to work with your schedule.

Where are your offices located?

We have two locations, one in Sumter, and one in Columbia. Our Sumter office is located at 2575 Lin Do Court Suite C, Sumter, SC 29150. Our Columbia office is located at 2917 Millwood Avenue, Suite B, Columbia, SC 29205.

How long do sessions usually last?

Sessions are 55 minutes in length. 

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, check, and credit card payment. If using a credit card, a processing fee of 3% is applied each session. Payment is due at the time of service. 

Do you accept my insurance?

We are providers with all Blue Cross Blue Shield health plans, TriCare, and some EAP programs. For more information on our insurance payment options, please contact us directly.

How do I set up an appointment?

To set up an appointment, you may call our office Monday-Friday from 8 am until 8 pm. You may also e-mail lifewaycounseling@gmail.com. 

What do I do if I need to move or cancel an appointment?

Please contact us directly. To contact Gina, please call 803-968-1138.  All cancellations and changes must be made 24 hours  before your appointment. For Monday appointments, cancellations and changes must be made Friday before noon.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require cancellations to be made 24 hours in advance. For Monday appointments, cancellations must be made by Friday before noon. If a cancellation is not made 24 hours prior to an appointment, the client is responsible for the session fee. If you have insurance, your insurance will not cover your missed session. You will be responsible for paying the fee in full. 

Will my sessions be confidential?

The relationship between therapist and client is protected by law and information cannot be disclosed without written consent. The only exceptions are if and when there is suspected child abuse/neglect or when the client threatens serious harm to self or others, in which case every effort is made to ensure the safety of those affected as required by law.
